After you sign up with your email and password, the first step is to create a student group. The Numeracy Screener can be used for individual students or for classroom and group-based assessment.

Start by entering a group name, selecting the grade, and choosing the country. For example, you might name a group “Class of 2025 – Summer,” choose Grade 1, and select Canada. This setup helps organize students in one place and makes it easier to track their progress. Once done, click the button to save and move to the next step.

The platform also supports five languages, so you can select your preferred language before starting.

Easily add multiple students through Importing Excel Sheet

No Student Names Stored on the server

Only non-identifiable information is saved.

Add Students to Your Group

Add Students to Your Group

Add Students to Your Group

You can add students in two ways. Either you fill out the details manually, or you use the Excel import option. If you choose to import, the system will show you exactly what to include in the file. Once ready, you just drop it in. If you're adding manually, you start by entering how many students you want to add, then click submit. That action creates blank spaces for you to enter details like the student's name, gender, and birth month and year.

After you complete the form, you click "Download List and Save New Students." This step is important. It creates an Excel file with all the student information saved directly to your device. That file will include the names you entered, but the Numeracy Screener does not store any of those names. The system only keeps non-identifiable data like gender, country, and the birth month and year. We do not store full dates of birth or any names. Even if a field shows an asterisk, that information is not saved after the file is downloaded.

If you add a new student to an existing group at a later time, a new Excel file will be downloaded with only that student’s information. Each time you add more students afterward, only the newly added student details will appear in the next download. Previously added names will not be included again. So it’s important to keep all versions of your saved files, as the system does not hold on to any student names.

Now you can screen each student in your student group. You have the option to run individual tests or combine multiple tests into one session, depending on what works best. In the combined test mode, you can also reorder the tests before starting.

Before the test begins, you can choose to show a practice round or skip it. Once the test starts, the screen goes full screen, and students can respond using either the keyboard arrows or the hand cursor. Some tests are timed, usually around one minute, while others depend on the number of questions.

If the test is stopped partway through, no progress is saved , the attempt is not recorded. Only fully completed tests are stored. Once the test ends, you can either view the student's results or continue with additional tests.

When you choose to view results, you’ll see all past attempts for that student, along with performance graphs that help you understand their progress over time.

Review Scores

Once testing is complete, you can review performance by going to the student database. From there, select the student group to view and compare reaction time, distribution scores, and overall performance. You can download an Excel report which contains a zip file for the selected groups. This report includes details such as the number of correct and incorrect answers, total trial count, and average reaction time.

You can also view results at the group level by clicking “View Student Group,” where all students in that group will appear. Use the dropdown on the top left to select a test and see how each student performed. You can also click on an individual student to explore their specific test results in more detail. From there, you can access a breakdown of each question, accuracy, and a visual graph of their performance over time. The “View Attempts” option lets you go deeper into each test session, giving a clear picture of how the student responded question by question.
